About
My Photographic journey started as a teenager in the UK, I could be found at any one of the Cambridge Universities filming my friends skateboarding down a set of stairs with a fish-eye lens held on to a camcorder by hand whilst being chased away by security!
At a similar time I became more and more interested in local Graffiti and the Hip Hop scene and so I would document the latest pieces in town and grew a fairly successful local following through a website I'd created.
These early interests helped create a solid foundation and understanding of using a camera and how versatile and fun taking photos could be. A short while later and stepping more firmly into early adulthood I made a powerful decision, one that would propel me into experiences and locations I'd only dreamt of before.
On a trip to Prague with friends I decided to say goodbye and headed eastwards, on my own, with a small backpack, my camera, an old phone, not much money, ready for whatever came my way.
That trip alone brought me overland through Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, China and into South East Asia, I went way way out of my comfort zone and only returned to the UK 2 years later.
I repeated these kind of overland trips on a few occasions, usually spanning between 1 and 2 years, hitch hiking, camping and keeping it as simple as possible, this allowed for some incredible memories and stories which I hope to communicate through my work.
I thrive in low tech surroundings, meaning give me natural light, an interesting subject and a camera that gets the job done and I'm happy.
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
